ROBERT BOWERS
Head of Global Commercial Strategy
Rob is Head of Global Commercial Strategy with a focus on product and portfolio strategy, pricing and market access, digital, data and analytics, and digital health innovation - to help make HIV a smaller part of people's lives.
Rob began his biopharmaceutical career at GSK in 2000 where he built deep operational expertise in the UK operating company.
He is motivated by the industry’s unique capability to drive value for patients and society through medicine innovation. This has driven his professional focus at the interface of commercial and Research & Development. He previously joined ViiV healthcare in 2014 as Global Commercial Lead for the long-acting Injectables that today form a critical part of ViiV’s vision for ending the epidemic.
Rob relocated to Singapore in 2017 as General Manager, leading GSK’s business there, before joining the global mission against antimicrobial resistance (AMR) in his capacity as Medicine Commercialisation Leader for GSK’s novel antibiotic portfolio. He was instrumental in progressing GSK’s internal pipeline and expanding the portfolio through in-licensing transactions. Rob then led GSK’s General Medicines Global Product Strategy Group before joining ViiV in 2024.
Robert has a first class honours degree in Biomedical Science, from the University of Sheffield, UK.
