ViiV HEALTHCARE’S COMMITMENT TO SUPPORT AIDS2020 AND KEY CONFERENCES DURING COVID-19 OUTBREAK

ViiV Healthcare’s mission is to leave no person living with HIV behind and in these uncertain times, we remain absolutely committed to ensuring that we deliver on this as well as ensuring the safety and well-being of our employees, customers, partners, and people living with HIV. As the coronavirus (COVID-19) situation continues to evolve rapidly you can read our latest position here.

In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, we are aware that the International AIDS Society (IAS) has recently made the decision to run the AIDS 2020 conference in a fully virtual mode – AIDS 2020: Virtual. We fully support IAS’s decision to run a fully virtual meeting.

We are working closely with IAS and will support this new modality. As more information becomes available, we will collaborate with IAS to make AIDS 2020: Virtual a success, by engaging with healthcare professionals, the community and many other stakeholders.

We are aware HIV2020 is now cancelled while alternatives are being explored. We understand these are uncertain times and some organizations may take similar decisions to run virtual events or postpone some meetings, all informed by the latest science and in consultation with leading health authorities.

This is consistent with our values and we will continue to work with partners to enable the appropriate spaces to share latest updates on science and engage with the community while continuing to prioritize the wellbeing of our employees, partners, customers and people living with HIV.

We are the only company 100% dedicated to combating, preventing, and ultimately curing HIV/AIDS and we remain committed to continuing to bring innovation, improving access to our HIV medicines and engaging global stakeholders to ensure no person living with HIV is left behind by supporting the communities most affected by the disease.
