We have created this site with people living with HIV for people living with HIV. We know that hearing about other people’s experiences can help you feel more confident in your own HIV journey, empowering you in your care and giving you the support you need.
Each community contributor brings a unique perspective, helping us to build a clearer understanding of what living well with HIV means for different people.

Tom Hayes

After almost a decade of living with HIV, today, Tom is the editor of Beyond Positive and a fierce self-advocate. Learn more about his HIV journey and be inspired to take an active role in your care – after all, life doesn’t stop at HIV.
Brad Hepburn
Self-advocate. Mentor. Trailblazing.
Brad has been living with HIV and involved in the community for 30 years. He helped write the script for care, government policies and everything in between. Now in his 60s, he finds himself playing an important role again – helping others age well with HIV.
Robert Fieldhouse
Specialist. Advisor. Empowered.
Diagnosed 15 years ago, Robert has now spent over 2 decades as a treatment educator and HIV writer. In this time, he developed an in-depth understanding of how HIV care has evolved. Today, he’s on a mission to help other people take charge of their care and their life.
Angelina Namiba

George Montague

George is 93-years-young and has been living with HIV for over 20 years. With the support of his loving husband Somchai, George has changed treatments and overcome long-term side effects. Discover how he continues to stay as fit and healthy as possible.
Romy Mathys

Romy has been living with HIV for over 3 decades and, after feeling empowered by sharing her status, she now refuses to hide it. Today, she empowers others on their HIV journey in her role as counsellor and peer mentor with Aids Hilfe Bern.
Roman Krakovsky

Roman has tackled self-stigma to find himself in a position where he can look to the future with confidence and excitement. Today, he uses his voice to promote open conversations and support people throughout their journey with HIV.
Christian Vincent
