POZQOL – QUALITY OF LIFE INSTRUMENT – MULTIPLE ACTIVITIES
Background
The PozQoL is a validated quality of life measurement scale designed for people living with HIV. The Scale was developed through a partnership led by La Trobe University in Melbourne, Australia, to address perceived challenges with using other QoL instruments within clinical practice or for program evaluation. The PozQoL is comprised of 13 questions and is free to use.
A website was developed as part of this collaboration to bring together the multiple pieces of work to make the PozQoL materials more accessible.
ViiV Supported Activities Include:
- PozQoL Instrument development and testing
- Implementation trial (Australia) – reported 2019
- Translations making this available in 16 languages.
- Implementation toolkit refresh
- Website development - https://www.pozqol.org/
- Validation outside of Australia in US sample (ongoing study)
Primary Objectives
- Develop and test PozQoL instrument
- Increase accessibility for people living with HIV by supporting translations and the creation of a PozQoL website.
Conclusions
The PozQoL scale has been tested in a diverse sample of adult PLHIV living in Australia, demonstrating very good reliability and validity. An implementation trial of the PozQoL scale will be conducted a cross clinical, community and peer-led programs in 2018.
