Communities Make the Difference
This World AIDS Day, ViiV Healthcare is proud to highlight the essential role that communities play in getting us closer to ending the HIV epidemic.
In less than 40 years, HIV/AIDS has claimed 700,000 lives. Each year on December 1, we take a moment to remember those we’ve lost, renew our support of those currently living with HIV and recognize the meaningful work that continues within the community to end the epidemic once and for all.
For the last ten years, ViiV Healthcare has worked alongside community organizations, academics, caregivers, clinicians and people living with HIV to strengthen innovative models of response and expand access, with the goal of leaving no one living with HIV behind. We know that without involvement and real-life insights from the community to help connect the opportunities and gaps, we cannot succeed.
We’re inspired by our Positive Action grantees who are making an impact in the communities they serve - whether that be through mentorship, creating safe spaces or breaking down barriers to care -and we’re proud to support them. Click on the videos below to hear more:
Thank you to all of the HIV/AIDS community groups and advocates who work tirelessly and passionately each day to make a difference in their communities. We remain united and motivated by our unique vision and singular purpose – to create a world free of HIV/AIDS.
